Antony Gormley in New York City

Yesterday I was downtown in the flatiron district on a mission....to see the Antony Gormley sculptures. They teeter on the rooftops and edges of high rise buildings, naked and looking for all the world like suicidal jumpers! (apparently the general public have been calling the cops in near hysterics!) The life sized sculptures of the artist (31 in total) are part of a long running work known as Event Horizon and have been shown in various other parts of the world. They are stunning and really weird perched atop the Manhattan skyline. NYer's say you can tell the difference between a tourist and a local, tourist's always stare up at the architecture! and now they will have something even more interesting to write home about!!
